2003 Retreat@Bintan

Getting down to some serious “business and fun”. That’s what corporate retreats are designed for! A time for reflection, idea generation and more importantly communicating future goals to the family of FTMS.

Nothing fell short of these objectives, the climate was warm and when time called upon it, it was simply electrifying with fun embedded in the many events that was organized-Have a look at the pictures attached it bares testament to this!

The first day kicked off with the FTMS family getting to know one another, some old and new acquaintances were made. This was followed by a sumptuous seafood dinner by the kelong. It was to set the mood for the agenda the next day which was planned to be bustling with activity.

The day started the next day bright and early with our Chairman, Mr. Balbeer Singh Mangat opening up the retreat proper with an insightful trip on the challenges that FTMSGlobal had gone through this year and the robustness of the company that helped see it through these turbulent period marked by events such as the war in Iraq and the SARS outbreak which punched the global economy where it hurt the most. After which the many center managers gave short presentations on the activities of their centers and their operations. Other aspects of the presentations made centered on FTMSGlobal’s future plans which was geared towards creating an image that distinguished its many operations. This would come about through the re-designing of the Academy website and incorporating technologies that would better equip us with the leading edge that would be a necessity in terms of providing quality service to our clientele. These changes are to be scheduled early next year.

The evening agenda was ‘fast and furious’ with games and contests and what’s a party without the booze! All were contented in this aspect and their throats were kept amply wet and as far as appetite was concerned it got a triple AAA rating.

All in all the corporate retreat met its objectives and the family returned to Singapore the next day. It is important to realize that the work has just begun and this was the mood when we returned home as it was followed by two days of continuous management meetings...
